Child Safety Standards

1. The Service is for adults only

Cofounnder is not directed to children and is not available to them. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Age is confirmed during sign-up, and our Terms of Service prohibit anyone under 18 from using the Service.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under that age, we remove the account and delete the associated data.

2. Zero tolerance for CSAE

Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any content or behaviour that sexualises, exploits, or endangers a child is strictly prohibited. This includes:

• Sharing, requesting, or linking to child sexual abuse material in any form.
• Sexualised depictions or descriptions of minors, real or generated.
• Grooming, solicitation, or any attempt to make contact with a minor for sexual purposes.
• Trafficking, or advertising or facilitating the sexual exploitation of a child.

There is no warning step for this. An account found to be engaged in any of the above is removed permanently, and the underlying content is preserved for reporting to the relevant authorities.

3. How we prevent it

• Age gate at sign-up. Every account confirms it meets the minimum age of 18 before it can be created.
• Automated photo review. Every profile photo is passed through automated safety review before it is shown to anyone. Images that fail are rejected and never become visible.
• Automated text review. Profile descriptions are screened automatically, and flagged profiles are hidden from discovery and prevented from starting conversations.
• Connection before contact. Nobody can message anyone who has not accepted a connection request, which removes unsolicited contact as a route entirely.
• No public content. The Service has no public feed, no public comments, and no way to broadcast content to strangers.

4. How to report

Every profile and every conversation in the app has a Report and a Block action, available without leaving the screen you are on. Reports reach our team directly. Reporting is confidential: the person you report is not told who reported them.

You can also report a child safety concern at any time, including without an account, by emailing support@cofounnder.com. Please put “Child safety” in the subject line so it is prioritised.

5. How we respond

• Reports involving a child safety concern are prioritised above all other reports and reviewed as quickly as we are able.
• Where a report is substantiated, we remove the content, permanently terminate the account, and block the user from creating another.
• We preserve the relevant account data and content as required to support an investigation.
• We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate with law enforcement and the relevant national authorities, including the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) in the United Kingdom.

6. Compliance

We comply with applicable child safety laws in the jurisdictions where the Service is available, and with Google Play’s Child Safety Standards policy and Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines on child safety. These standards are reviewed as the Service changes.
